Naming Things Is the Work

A component called Card2 is a decision nobody made, preserved forever. The name is where the thinking either happened or did not.

When something is hard to name, it is usually because it is two things wearing one coat. The naming did not fail; it reported a problem upstream.

A name you have to explain is a design you have to explain.

We treat a bad name as a bug in the structure, not in the vocabulary. Splitting the thing usually makes the name obvious.
